2019 IFCA JUNIOR (under 15) SLALOM DUTCH CARIBBEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
2019 IFCA JUNIOR (under 17) SLALOM DUTCH CARIBBEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
2019 IFCA YOUTH (under 21) SLALOM DUTCH CARIBBEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Experimental Slalom Competition Rules (ESCR)
1.2 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
1.4 The International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) Championship Rules shall apply as amended by the IFCA ABC General Rules
1.5 For this championship Class Rule C.2.3. (b) shall not apply.
2.1 Sailors may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority. World Sailing Regulation 20 – ‘Advertising Code’ shall apply.
2.2 Event branding shall be worn at all times when afloat, and as requested by the organizers during media interviews and during the prize giving.
3.1 Age Divisions:
3.1.1 A Junior (U15) shall be under the age of 15 (born in or after 2005).
3.1.2 A Junior (U17) shall be under the age of 17 (born in or after 2003).
3.1.3 A Youth shall be under the age of 21 (born in or after 1999 and not later than 2004).
3.2 There may be additional prize divisions for junior under 13 age groups, depending upon competitor entry levels, and at the discretion of the organizer.
3.3 A minimum of 5 competitors is required to constitute a division according to #3.1.
3.4 This championship is for sailors in the FIN division only – see Class Rule C.6.1.
4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of World Sailing Regulation 19 – Eligibility Code. Competitors shall be members of a National Class Association which is a paid-up member of the international class association (IFCA).
4.1 Eligible competitors may enter ‘on site’ at the event race office.
4.2 The following shall be presented or completed upon registration:
– Evidence of valid third-party insurance
– Proof of age
– Parental Permission Form– for those under the age of 18
5.1 The entry fee is: US$60.00 for one event entrée or US$150.00 for the tour series.
5.2 Entry fees are to be paid at registration in cash (US$)
6. RACE FORMAT
6.1 The championship shall be a single discipline, slalom racing, “open entry” event for junior and youth competitors.
6.2 Boys and girls may race together; details will be specified in the sailing instructions.
6.3 One completed elimination, including both A and B finals, is required to validate the event in each division.

8. EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
8.1 Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event.
8.2 Use of a FOIL is not permitted – see Class Rule C.6.1.
9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
9.1 The sailing instructions (SI’s) will be available upon registration, if not published online earlier. Any changes to the SI’s shall be approved by the Event’s Class Representative.
10.1 Courses will be as described in the IFCA Championship Rules or as prescribed in the sailing instructions, or published on the official notice board (ONB).
11. PROTEST COMMITTEE
A Protest Committee will be appointed.
12.1 Scoring will be according to the ESCR Appendix A for each event.ABC Tour Ranking will be scored according to the ABC Tour General Rules.
13. COACHES & SUPPORT BOATS
13.1 Coaches and support boats shall be registered at the Race Office.Support boat drivers shall have a valid boat license and third party liability insurance.
14.1 Personal floating device is recommended for every competitor under 17 years of age and support boat crew member. If personal floating device is prescribed every competitor and support boat crew member shall wear a personal flotation device that complies to the minimum standard ISO 12402-5 (Level 50).
15.1 Prizes may be awarded to the top 3 competitors in each properly constituted division in each tour event.
15.2 The first Junior (U15) boy and girl in the ABC Tour Ranking will be declared – “2019 IFCA Junior (under 15) Slalom Dutch Caribbean Champion”.
15.3 The first Junior (U17) boy and girl in the ABC Tour Ranking will be declared – “2019 IFCA Junior (under 17) Slalom Dutch Caribbean Champion”.
15.4 The first Youth man or woman in the ABC Tour Ranking will be declared – “2019 IFCA Youth Slalom Dutch Caribbean Champion”.
16. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
16.1 Competitors are requested to attend the event’s social functions. Prize winners may forfeit prizes for non-attendance at the prize giving ceremony.
17. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
17.1 Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk, see ESCR 4 – Decision to Race. The organizing authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event.
18.1 Each participating competitor/support boat driver shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,000,000 US$ per event or the equivalent.
19. RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS
19.1 In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Event as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
